Today the future is here

Unmatched processing timesWelcome to Histos 3, the rapid microwave histoprocessor for same-day diagnosis for reduced patient stress and improved patient care.
The Histos 3 is the result of Milestone’s 18 years of research in applying microwaves to histoprocessing and of the experience of hundreds of microwave histoprocessors installed worldwide. The Histos 3 provides the ideal combination of processing performance, reagent efficiency, and environmental sensitivity, without sacrifying the morphology and quality histopathologists expect.

The Histos 3 unit is ideally suited for histology laboratories that process generally small to medium size biopsies and where thickness of sampled tissues is easily controlled to no more than 3 mm thickness.
The Histos 3 utilizes a higher temperature during the wax impregnation step (instead of the vacuum step used in the Histos 5) to eliminate the excess traces of organic reagents from the specimen. Like the Histos 5, the Histos 3 can process up to 110 cassettes.

Same-day diagnosis: benefits for the patient and the patient care management team

Histos 3: the Breakthrough

Histoprocessing
Conventional: Overnight processing using 12-14 reagents. Diagnosis after 48-72 hours using hazardous reagents: xylene and formalin.
Histos 3: Same-day processing and diagnosis using 2-3 reagents only with low toxicity: FineFix, ethanol, isopropanol, JFC, ProWave.

Decalcification
Conventional: hours.
Histos 3: Minutes: decalcification plus histoprocessing of bone marrow biopsies in 240 minutes.

Special Stains
Conventional: GMS (fungi) in 130' - Masson trichrome in 120' - Alcian blue in 23' - Grimelius (agyrophil) in 65'.
Histos 3: GMS (fungi) in 25' - Masson trichrome in 32' - Alcian blue in 13' - Grimelius (agyrophil) in 13'.

Gross Hardening
Conventional: 24 hours.
Histos 3: 45/60 minutes.

Fixation
Conventional: Hours.
Histos 3: Minutes.

Epitope Retrieval
Conventional: Manual.
Histos 3: Walk-away, automatic documented protocols.

High processing flexibility and simplicity

Authorized user log-in Select the maximum thickness Select maximum number of cassettes Select reagents to be used Press "Start" Press "Go to Wax" Tap on the screen to start simultaneously the next run
Authorized user log-in Select the maximum thickness of specimen to be processed Select maximum number of cassettes (55-110) Select reagents to be used Ethanol/Isopropanol/ProWave/JFC Press "Start" and the unit runs automatically tracing the ramping and time at temperature (T.A.T) protocol Press "Go to Wax" and impregnation step will begin and run unattended. Tap on the screen to start simultaneously the next run with the dehydration/clearing step.
